A Gathering of Quilters
Holidays at Home ![]() | There is nothing better than Holidays at Home by Faye Burgos for Marcus Brothers! This collection plays on traditional holiday themes with festive reds and greens. Classic motifs include lush florals, cardinals, a detailed diagonal stripe and holiday greetings. Not only will you be pleasantly surprised with this new approach to a block-of-the-month quilt, you'll enjoy time-saving piecing tips and techniques. The blocks are made using "Strip-It", which is a unique design featuring 17 assorted prints across the width for lots of creative potential. We cut 11 of these kits and they are going fast, and once they're gone, THEY'RE GONE! In order to complete, and leave time for quilting, before the holidays we have decided to have 3 classes over the next 3 months. Dates and Times: August 5th, September 2nd and October 7th. Choose from 10:00 - 2:00 or 5:00 - 9:00. |

American Barns ![]() 2nd Tuesday of every month | Join us on another adventure with Eleanor Burns,
this time as she guides us on a journey paying tribute to rural America's barns painted with quilt blocks. Each month we will create a barn with a miniature quilt hanging on it, traditional quilt blocks and appliqued farm animals, all surrounded by a timeless checkerboard border with appliqued chicken and rooster corners! What could be more true blue American than that? We will be making the large sampler quilt which will finish at 70" x 70" |
Magic Vine ![]() 3rd Tuesday of every month | Starting in April, we will begin our newest club. It is especially designed for those of you who desire to learn, or further your skills in embroidery. We are very excited about Helen heading this club. This is still one of the very best books for hand and machine applique on the market. Eleanor has researched and gathered patterns that originated a 1930's newspaper quilting column written by Florence LaGanke Harris. This club will cover hand and machine applique for each flower in the vine. In addition to the patterns, Eleanor shares the actual newspaper article, which included a fictitious story about a quilt group and their leader, Nancy Page. Twenty two flowers are appliqued in rows with twinning vines and we will create 2 every month for a year. You may join at anytime!! |
